You Do Not Have to Earn This
“Come to Me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.”
Matthew 11:28
The hallway is already loud, or it is too quiet. Either way, you are on. Someone needs a version of you that is ready: breakfast, messages, the face you are supposed to bring into the room. You start adding it up before your feet touch the floor: what you forgot, who will be late, how you will sound when you walk in.
Jesus is not waiting at the bottom of that list. He meets you here, hair unbrushed, while the list is still open.
You do not have to finish yourself before you sit down.
Pray
Lord, I am tired in a way coffee will not fix. I am not bringing You a finished morning. I am here. Amen.

What were you already carrying before you stood up?
Leave one thing untouched for the next ten minutes. What is it?
